Almost Senior and loving it?

Withlacoochie River 2012By: Julia Chaney

Life, as we know it, can change in a heartbeat as we get older. Hormones and Testosterone become out of control, creating havoc in our lives unparalleled by anything that we have experienced prior to our body turning against us. Suddenly, walking a flight of stairs may have us huffing and puffing, and the foods that we eat create pounds of fat in places we did not think it could exist.

For some, this scenario and other more gruesome issues such as health problems just seem to appear overnight after the age of forty. When this begins to happen, we are suddenly thrown into the Almost Senior area in our lives. This is a time in our lives when we begin to have health problems contributed to age without the senior discount and cheap insurance. For decades, we have all heard of the “Golden Years” and although it is unknown who perpetrated that highly ironic myth, becoming older certainly doesn’t seem golden anymore.

Although getting older seems to bring many unforeseen issues, it can be an exciting time of our lives. Our objective should be to overcome the unfortunate parts of getting older and look forward to new adventures in our lives. Being between the age of 45 and 65 will bring many great things. Many of us can look forward to grandchildren who bring joy to our existence. Many of us will find solace in a book, while others of us will try new adventures such as travel.

This is a time when financial stress should be at a minimum. The children are leaving home and forming their own families. Now is the time to have fun and enjoy life. This website remains dedicated to helping those that are in limbo between young adulthood and becoming a senior citizen. Maybe these are the Golden Years!

Fun and good health as we age
